Graphics card temperatures
Mar 28, 2020 So I bought an used Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4Gb to add some graphics perfs to my computer, with the intention to play on Windows. But I need to get the card working on macOS too. My hackintosh is built on a Gigabyte H87m-D3, which has always worked well on macOS. Jan 05, 2019 My rig: i7-4930k / X79 Deluxe / Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 4GB / PSU be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 750W Like many others I'm getting a black screen when Mojave 10.4.2 boots (I tried with HDMI, DVI and DP to DVI) I'm starting to feel out of options, the card is supposed to work OOB. Sapphire Technology Technology Radeon 11266-04-20G Pulse RX 570 4GB GDDR5 Dual HDMI/ DVI-D/ Dual DP OC with Backplate (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card 4.4 out of 5 stars 223 2 offers from $129.85. Why is Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 570 8GB better than Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 560 OC 4GB? 22.5 GPixel/s higher pixel rate? 42.9 GPixel/s vs 20.4 GPixel/s.
So here we'll have a look at GPU temperatures. First up, IDLE (desktop) temperatures. Overall anything below 50 Degrees C is considered okay, anything below 40 Degrees C is very nice and below 30 Degrees C - CEWL. But what happens when we are gaming? We fire off an intense game-like application at the graphics card and measure the highest temperature of the GPU.
So with the card fully stressed we kept monitoring temperatures and noted down the GPU temperature.
- LOAD - The temperature under heavy game stress for the card stabilized at a maximum of roughly 74 Degrees C. We note down the hottest GPU reading, not the average.
Black friday sale mac apps. With today's graphics cards, please make sure your PC is well ventilated at all times, this will seriously help you on the overall GPU temperatures. Once the card reaches a certain threshold in temperature it will start throttling on the boost frequency as well as voltages and fan RPM. The card does reach its 1340 MHz Max boost frequency, but mostly remains at roughly 1320~1340 MHz.
Hardware installation
Installation of any of the AMD Radeon cards is really easy. Once the card is seated into the PC make sure you hook up the monitor and of course any external power connectors like 6 and/or 8-pin PEG power connectors. https://leaseintensive246.weebly.com/fast-switch-apps-number-keys-mac.html. Preferably get yourself a power supply that has these PCIe PEG connectors native.

Once done, we boot into Windows, install the latest ATI Catalyst drivers and after a reboot all should be working. No further configuration is required or needed unless you like to tweak the settings, for which you can open the Catalyst Control Center.
The card uses both a 6-pin and 8-pin power connector
Power Consumption
Let's have a look at how much power draw we measure with this graphics card installed. The methodology: We have a device constantly monitoring the power draw from the PC. We simply stress the GPU, not the processor. The before and after wattage will tell us roughly how much power a graphics card is consuming under load. Our test system is based on an eight-core Intel Core i7-5960X Extreme Edition setup on the X99 chipset platform. This setup is clocked to 4.40 GHz on all CPU cores. Next to that, we have energy saving functions disabled for this motherboard and processor (to ensure consistent benchmark results). We'll be calculating the GPU power consumption here, not the total PC power consumption. Keep in mind that the system wattage is measured at the wall socket side and there are other variables like PSU power efficiency. So this is a calculated value not a precise measurement, albeit a very good one. The Wattage shown below is the card with the GPU(s) stressed 100%, showing only the peak GPU power draw, not the power consumption of the entire PC and not the average gaming power consumption.

This is Guru3D's generic power supply recommendation for the series:
- AMD Radeon RX 570 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
- AMD Radeon RX 580 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina. There are many good PSUs out there, please do have a look at our many PSU reviews as we have loads of recommended PSUs for you to check out in there. What would happen if your PSU can't cope with the load:
Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon Rx 570
- bad 3D performance
- crashing games
- spontaneous reset or imminent shutdown of the PC
- freezing during gameplay
- PSU overload can cause it to break down
